Priestley came highly recommended but seems a dense read to me. One day workshop focusing on the design and understanding of complex networks through mapping and visual analysis. Other terms, which are also related to information analysis, sensemaking and visual reasoning seem to be less frequently used, such as scientific visualisation and the emerging field: visual analytics. One by Priestley entitled “Introduction to Complex Analysis” and one by Needham entitled “Visual Complex Analysis”. If you're interested in a _fantastic_ text on complex analysis (with gorgeous proofs and arguments), you should check out Visual Complex Analysis, by Tristan Needham. This radical approach to complex analysis replaces the standard calculational arguments with new geometric ones. I got it from an early chapter of Tristan Needham's utterly fantastic book Visual Complex Analysis. This is a purely geometric introduction to complex analysis. The author ties his hands behind is back, forcing himself to do everything one might expect in a book on complex analysis using geometric arguments.
